Hindu Devi Mandir and Cultural Centre (HDM) stemmed from a collective vision and aspiration of the Hindu Bengali Community residing in parts of East Midland, East of England, and Southeast of England. It has flourished with time as a result of the enthusiasm and endeavours of members, who believe in Hinduism. The initiative was given a formal shape during a meeting in 2019, in order to establish a Hindu Temple and a spiritual Centre specifically dedicated to ‘Devi Shakti’ (Goddess of Power) considered as the feminine epitome of strength
Our Mission
To construct and equip a religious centre, a Hindu Temple as a place of worship for Devi Shakti – The Hindu Goddess of Power and to provide a platform to conduct social rituals across life course in Hindu scriptures for people following Hinduism.
To serve the cultural and social needs of Hindus mostly living in Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire, Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire, Northamptonshire, Oxfordshire, and surrounding areas through religious activities, including offering prayers (puja), organising Hindu festivals, and holding religious and spiritual discourses.
To raise awareness about the Theo-philosophy of Hinduism as a way of life and also to educate our younger generation about Hindu scriptures to help them understand values of Hinduism and to facilitate in making informed choices of their belief and faith.
To raise awareness about the Theo-philosophy of Hinduism as a way of life with opportunities to act morally and ethically and lead a good life.
To increase an understanding and awareness of different religious and spiritual beliefs through interfaith dialogues and provide a focal point from which all people of goodwill can recognise the common values they hold far outweigh the differences they have, and thus provide a stronghold of peace and harmony to their communities and facilitate increased acceptance and tolerance.
To promote spiritual harmony in the community by organising events on spiritual education, Vedic discourses, Yoga practices and Meditation.
